Need Help Identifying DME Chip
Does anyone recognize what chip this is? I found it inside my DME and I can't find any information on it.

Could be anything. Somebody may have copied another chip and put his own avery label on it.

Oh darn. I was hoping it was some common chip that was obsolesced sometime back. Thanks for the help!

Not sure why you would have a 28 pin DME in an '87 car.
What is the part number on the DME? |
Sorry I uploaded the wrong pic. The actual one is the same sticker but It is a 24 pin.http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1553664634.jpg

That makes more sense.

What other mods are/were done to the car that may be related to the DME ?

Looks like the board it's on is a standard '86 DME...
951.618.121.08 The part and rev number match. Sox http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1554061336.jpg |
if you're feeling brave you might try peeling the sticker off and see what's underneath. :)

Wow thanks for all this awesome info! My car is totally stock apart from an aftermarket alarm and stereo. This was from a DME I bought off the eBay. I was just curious to see what it might be. The KLR I have doesn’t have the same sticker. I thought they would have the same branding on it because they should come in a set. I’ll take a look at what’s inderneath since I’m not planning on using the aftermarket chip anyway.

If you have a way of downloading the code in the chip, it can be compared with the original to display the differences.

I don’t have the hardware to download the data from the chip. I looked it up to see if there was an inexpensive way but gave up going down that rabbit hole. There are too many usb chip burners to chose from. Thanks for the insight!

Well if you really really want to know, drop it in the mail to me I will read it and create a diff file for you.

Nice. I appreciate the offer but it’s not that serious for me since I realize that I don’t have a matching KLR chip for it anyway. Thanks again!
