951 Turbo Power Loss

I recently bought a 89 951 with a K27 on it. I drove it back to Salt Lake City from Southern Arizona and everything ran fine. Just the other day, i noticed a difference in power output. I just doesn't seem like the turbo is fully winding up. It only has 7k on it form PowerHuas. I don't know a whole lot about turbos. Any Help? Thanks!

Check to make sure none of the little vacuum lines has come off or is cracked at tees. There is a tee near the fuel damper. There is another tee between cylinders 3 and 4 under intake. Check to see if your blow off valve is leaking. It's the round thing near the coolant reservoir. It should not pass air unless vacuum is applied to nipple. The nipple should be a dead end - goes to a membrane chamber that opens the valve when vacuum is applied. Nipple should hold vacuum. Check vacuum line under throttle body to see if it has fallen off.

There is a cycling valve between 3 and 4 under manifold. It has 3 nipples. Check to see if they have broken off. It also has electrical connections.

Lawrence is right. I know how you feel - and believe me, theres nothing wrong with your turbo - just a vacuum leak somewhere - and it wont be the last one you have - they seem to pop up out of nowhere sometimes.

The trick is finding it. Start by simply tightening every single clamp you can see. Then check the BCV (black "cylinder" to the right of airbox) visually for cracks.

9 times out of 10, when I experienced power loss, I retightened all the hose clamps and that did the trick.

Your engine is very moody - vacuum leaks turn on "951 PMS" mode and even the smallest leak can rob alot of power.
