Kessel run in 12 parsecs!

Chin spoiler
Ordered a chin spoiler for my 951. It turned out ok, but I was a bit disappointed in it not having the holes pre-drilled or at least marked, and no mounting hardware. I managed to install it but later on I want a body shop to secure it a little better, it works and its solid...

I ordered one from a frequent ebay lister and it had dimples where the attachment holes were to be drilled. It was too flimsy for highway use so I bought some end cut 1/2 thick balsa wood and fibreglass matted the back of it for stiffness. Now it's solid and after painting, looks great.

IFC Racing in Californey, I think i payed $220 plus shipping, its not painted, I rattle canned mine for now, later on ill have it re shot in alpine white when I do a respray on my cars nose...Its molded for the 951 so it has all of the correct curves, but alas, I need to find a body shop round these parts that does a good job..

At one point, I wanted to do the rear hatch with a fiber glass kit. It looks pretty cool with an optional wing spoiler, and then I decided against it after having my rear hatch open up while on the highway. LOL! The glass is much more weighted, and I bet the fiber glass hatch would rip off and id be out a $1000 dollars and a broken heart. I have a Porsche book from the early 80,s and I saw a Martini style 924? Kinda like yours, it had a martini stripe on the side, but it wasnt as fancy as yours. I think it said that it was a tribute to the Martini racers back in the day?

Mine is a tribute car as well and with full suspension and brake upgrades I plan to occasionally autocross it. Right now I'm fighting with loss of power brakes so I can't AX it like that.

I got this from a user on Rennlist. This is the first one I got which I had coated in black truck bed liner. The entire lower section is balsa wood layered in fIberglass. It is extremely solid.

Here is the second one I bought. I got it since I couldn't remove the bedliner from the first and I wanted to go with a different color.
I bumped a curb with this one and the lower edge is so solid it had a tiny ding in it but it broke the fiberglass around the rear most mounting bolt on the drivers side. I bought a couple of the metal mounting brackets that hold the bumper cover up to the fender. https://i.ebayimg.com/images/g/aF4AAOSwGXtXgo4B/s-l400.jpg I fiberglassed those two brackets into the underside of the splitter to reinforce the mounting holes and then I coated it in white truck bed liner. It's now ready to take on Humungus in the wasteland

They are based on the Joe Toth design. The guy who makes them wanted Joe to make his design deeper and Joe refused so the guy created his own.
AFAIK, Joe's splitters are just fiberglass, they don't have a solid balsa core for the bottom edge. EDIT: I just took a look at Joe's website and he has a street version and a track version. The track version looks about the same as the one I have. I still don't know if Joe uses the balsa core. I don't worry much about speed bumps. I've hit a few and have some minor scrapes in the bed liner on the bottom of the splitter.
