Airbag light is off

Greetings,

It's been a while since my last post.

1988 turbo

I disconnected my battery for a month or so ago doing some other work. When i hooked back up,, low and behold, my airbag light and warning lights were off!

Any thoughts?

Rick

Isn't that the way it is supposed to work?

So,, you have heard of this before? It would seem like it would be out there with Clark's molex jumper timer wiz do hickey.

Blah blah blah, and if that doesn't work just unplug your battery for a month or two and BAM.. fixed!

You did not say that your airbag light was on before you disconnected the battery. Disconnecting the battery should not reset the light.

Does the light come on when you first turn on the ignition? Does the "!" light come on as well? It could be that your idiot light system has stopped working or a bulb is out.

Yes, my apologies.. airbag light was on prior to changing timing belt. Warning light system light was on. Now everything seems to functioning normally.

I was wondering if this had ever happened to anyone else.

Thanks,

Rick

In my 35 years of owning 944 cars, I don't recall ever having one fix itself... It will light up when you least expect it (at night, a lonely road, raining, no cell coverage, etc.)
