Non messy Oil filter change?

Is it possible to change the INVERTED oil filter with ut making a mess?

Oh man- that was my 2nd post here! Welcome, and taking the filter off really is a mess. Some people here suggest punching a hole in it to release to vacuum before removing. I am nervous about drilling getting metal frags into the oil, and I had thought using a big hammer and an ice-pick like device could do it, but then I got nervous about damaging the threads, so I just decided that it sucks and to use lots of newspapers. But that force field idea...

The hammer and pick will work, just do it at the top of the filter and you won't get close to the threads. Keep a bit of Castrol Superclean on hand for cleaning afterwards. Just remember to rinse well
