car won't start

The car would not start and I suspected the ignition switch. I jumped the old starter and the car started and ran fine. After a few days this stopped working so I suspected the solenoid. So I replaced the starter and jumped it and the car ran fine. Then I replaced the ignition switch (what a nightmare due to limited access) and the car won't start.

On my 350Z when you turn ignition to accessory 2 you can hear the fuel pump from the rear of the car. I cannot hear the fuel pump on my 944T. Should I?

So I ordered a new fuel pump, fuel pump check valve, and fuel pressure regulator.

Today in attempting to install the fuel pressure regulator I found the vacuum hose was not connected anywhere. In looking around I found a Y vacuum connector with nothing plugged into it so not sure where the pressure regulator vacuum hose goes. See picture #3.

Then I found another vacuum hose near the firewall also not connected. See picture 1 and 2.

Pictures below. Any help is appreciated.

Here is the vac hose layout. It is for a Turbo. The pump only comes on momentarily at engine crank. If you want to test it jump the dme rellay. The process is documented on this site.

I've looked at several vacuum diagrams on this site but still have not found a good picture of where the thermo valve is located. I suspect this unattached vacuum line goes to it, see picture. When I was tracing this line it broke it was so brittle. I've put a 2 inch connector on it but still don't see at that length anywhere to push it on. I know it goes under the manifold but I pulled it out for the picture.

The only vacuum line in that area on my car, runs from what they call the blow off valve, then branches off to the cycling valve and the fuel dampener.

The thermo valve is located behind the AOS and near the speed and ref sensor area. Ignore the other labels in the pics, old stuff. Also bad spelling of valve.....

Gary, there is a 951 reference post which is the first pinned post in this forum. in the first post is the vacuum diagram and a link to a thread that has alternate/modified diagrams. take a look through the reference post and save yourself some time.
