I'd like to know that too. Most people noticed that mine seems to be lowered a bit from stock as well but I'm not sure what the three digit code for this would be. What's the code for yours?

One other question, did they make cup cars as early as 86?

Typically if you had a Turbo Cup car, you would definitely know it. They're usually going for over $40k now and includes:
- Magnesium intake-manifold (looks kinda dirty brown), $3500 - Magnesium PhoneDial wheels, in 16x9/8" sizes typically color-matched to paint-job on car (worth over $2000 each) - Tires in 245/45-16 and 255/40-16 sizes - no cruise-control - no air-conditioning - no undercoating - curb-weight of 2602lbs - Bilstein aluminium adjstable struts and shocks with rising-rate springs - strut-tower brace bolts to strut-tower The '88 TurboS/89+ (Special Edition in Europe) was similar ot the Turbo Cup cars and some people refer to TurboS models as Turbo Cup cars because there were some similarities. But these are two completely differnet models. The '88+ TurboCup cars had 300bhp which was never transfered to a street model. Last I heard, there are less than 100 of the original 150 made. Most of these were in Europe. Only 36 of the Rothmans cars made it to N.America and raced in the Canadian TurboCup series. Last edited by DannoXYZ; 07-18-2003 at 12:45 AM.. |

Yes, the first year for the TurboCup series was 1986. Those cars had 250bhp and was the model for the later TurboS street cars. The chip-maps are close to within about 95%. I would have been nice to see the '88+ 300bhp TurboCup cars show up in a production model as well... |

Ronin, you mean my car? no.
It was a red car when new, immeduiately painted white and blue (Pioneer sponsorship). During an engine maintenence the front compartment was painted white. Then when it got in private hands, repainted white with the red nose and tail. ![]() ![]() GeorgeK |

I tracked it but did not race it. I bought it to have a good car to track and learn to drive correctly. Trouble with it is you can't reasonably use it on the streets (even though it is licensed and road legal). The moment you're having fun, you're in the "straight in jail, don't collect at the start" territory. Over 350 HP with the correct fuel. Tracks are too far from my place to use regularly.

The car was the car the importer would lend to celebrity pilots. It has won a lot of Cup races but could not score points. It had very strict maintenance, and, as the importer's official who took care of them admitted, more HP than the other cars.
The series was the french running of the 944 Turbo Cup, which is the first iteration of the Cup that has become the Supercup we all know. See: Well known french 944 Turbo Cup race car I am negotiable. GeorgeK |

ahaaa, hence the nameplate and not a permanent name on the side. what is your asking price and would it be street legal here in the U.S.? (p.s. if I don't respond for a while, I'm off ot my friends house for a day of racing)

I really don't know if it would be street legal in the USA. As far as pollution goes, it has a catalyst, and passes in Switzerland, which is very strict.
For price talk, please mail me at georgeskromp@hotmail.com , I think it belongs outside the forum. The list of parts is VERY long. ![]() GeorgeK |

I put the list of spares on the "for sale" forum, with the car.
