Looking for my first 944

Guys,

I'm looking to get a project car to occupy my time and I've always loved cars. I'm looking at a 944 but have some questions.

1) What are the different models of 944 and their perspective STOCK performances? I've already got an '03 BMW M3 and '03 330i and a '02 BMW X5 so I'm not too concerned with that much power HOWEVER once i get this thing restored to my idea, I wouldn't want to get walked by any Civic Type - Rice cans either. I've noticed a lot of people post the VIN on their sales which helps a lot b/c I can do carfax on them and get the liters and everything.

2) Are performance modification beyond the stock level achieved fairly easy and with what kinds of mods?

I guess these questions will get me on my way.. Thanks for everyone's help in advanced.. i'll be testing the :search: feature on this site now.

definately read it before buying, compare the market price and condition thourghly. Make sure it has docs on the stated maint. and repairs. A "great deal" up front my be a "money pit" in the end. Also check out :

At Hershey Park Pa...I am on the way out the door, should be a great sunny day, Should see about 600 porsches there...chech the post on the 944\924 listing for " anyone going to hershey !!!
