911 turbo on a 944

will a turbo from an 86 911 fit on a 944? would i need to modify it? i have access to one and was just wondering.......

man i was not thinking. i guess i should have said, does anyone have a k27 for a 944 that would like to trade for a 86 911 k27?

The exhaust and centersection should bolt up after a bit of clocking. I want to say that it would fit, but you may want to research further before relying on that information.

Obviously you would loose watercooling. I would instead look into using the K27 compressor (and maybe even the hotside) on a K26 centersection, which isn't inherently weak, infact they're quite tough.
