951 spare valve stem size

Random 951 question of the day.

I am putting together a setup of 951 spare wheels for the 356.

I had them refinished and now need new valve stems. The tire shop told me they don't have any that would fit. I have the old stems but the rubber is cracked and tired.

Any chance someone has had to replace a valve stem on their spare? If so, where did you get it and do you know the size?

There are a lot of resources on the net, but so far it seems that the hole is smaller than standard setups...

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks,

Jason

Sooo...

I found something that I think might work, a stem that will fit into a 5/16 hole.

Never guess where, from Jegs. Yep. Unfortunately, the part is back ordered...still looking...

man, I should have had the hole size increased before they were anodized...
