HKS EVC (Electronic Valve Controller)

Hello All,

I recently purchased a used HKS EVC-1 for my 86 951, has anyone ever put one of these things on a stock 951? I paid $100 for it, put it on yesterday and HOLY *****!!!!!!!!!

It is typically my luck that when I find a deal like that it usually is not right for the car, even though it runs like a raped ape now...so I thought I would ask if anyone else has used one.

Thanks, Steve

P.S. John from Vitesse if your out there call me I lost your number....I'm ready for my turbo, mass air flow meter and chips!

I got a controller that goes in the dash, it has 3 buttons for LOW, MID, or HIGH boost. I also got 2 EVC Valves, with 3 nipples on the top that had to be connected to various point of the vaccum system. I also got the intruction/installation manual....

It was a pretty simple install, had to drill one hole for the wire harness to get into the passenger compartment, mounted the controller under the radio. I spent about $20 in vaccum line and vaccume line "T's" and there is a noticeable difference in the way it runs.....

my main concern would be over-boosting the engine. do you have a dial type boost gauge? do you have an idea as to what pressure it is at during full boost?

I just have the stock boost gauge in the car now and it reads 2 bar 95% of the time while in boost. The gauge will remain on 2 bar all the way to red line.

The car is actually leaving tomorrow to get a new clutch, my throw out bearing is whinning really loud so time for a CUP Clutch!....lol

lol....sure you can have it if and when it blows up.....I'm up at 6am CST, I had to get up early to take the car for it's date with a new clutch and then we are going to put in an autometer boost gauge.....I'll let you know the level of boost it's running....after the clutch and boost gauge have been installed...

Thanks, Steve
