993TT Bypass valve part no. ?
 
Does anybody have the porsche part number for the 993TT pop off or bypass valve? I am replacing my broken 951 valve with this one, but don't have the part number handy. Thanks.

Thanks for the info! After I checked this site you suggested, I decided against replacing the valve with a stock piece. I chose an all-metal one from Turbonetics for $115. It releases the air to the atmosphere instead of back into the intake. Thanks again.

Flight-

It will be very hard to get that working correctly. The problem is, at idle, the valve will open, and then unmetered air can get into the engine, causing stalling. There are two ways to fix this problem and keep the BOV venting to atmosphere:

1)use a MAP sensor in the manifold(requires stand-alone engine management)

2)replace the spring in the BOV with one that will just barely keep it closed during idle, but during shifts, when the vacuum is higher, it will open

You might just try to recirculate it.

I was wondering about unmetered air...

But, I've already picked my car up with the Turbonetics valve on there. (The shop had one in stock.) It seems to work very well. It did require some testing, but I'm not entirely certain of how they got it working...

They installed it on the air intake pipe right near the airbox. (I'll take a photo tonight to post up here.) It is venting to atmosphere and at first I wasn't sure I'd like the sound, but I'm hooked. Everytime I lift off the gas under acceleration there's a whooshing sound. It's not loud unless I'm flooring it and even then it is just enough so I and the cars around me can hear something...

This was the last in a string of repairs/modifications that included APE Stage II chips, Cup car turbo, Tial wastegate...

They may have put a spring in there, I'll find out next week when I go back for a new radiator expansion tank. Thanks.

BTW, I meant metered air gets out of the engine, causing a rich condition. They must have it adjusted just right. Let us know how it holds up.
