Component Subwoofer and Audio upgrade
 

I replaced the speakers inside with some economical pioneers that sound great. with some dremel work i put larger ones in the rear. Now i have just ordered an Infiniti Basslink sub from crutchfield (scratch & dent for $254!!) ANY ideas on location/method for installation?? i have no spare so it is going in there...somehow. also is getting 10 guage cable through the firewall easy??

on a side note, do those Gtech perf things work for real??

A few people have built sub boxes to fit in the spare tire well. From what I understand, it's better to build one of fiberglass/resin than of MDF because of the odd shape (and lost volume if you use MDF).

i have the infinity basslink installed in the rear hatch. it's tied down with bungees for quick and easy removal for track days. i'll take pictures for you when i have time.

you actualy don't have to drill anything to run the power wire.. just cut a small hole ( or drill if you perfer) on the rubber plugs near the hood joint's That actualy lead's into the car kick panel and you should be able to carefully remove the carpet and run it to the back of the vehicle. As far as placement you shoudl have enuff room to lay it on its side with the powered woofer facign up and the pasive facing down and bolt/screw it down in the middle of the rear portion of the bucket seats. Or i guess you could use alot of velcrow. :) or zip ties somehow

i used bungee cables. :) i really dislike drilling holes into the car that don't belong there.
