Diagnosing a engine problem

I have a '89 turbo S, ran engine up close to redline (but not into it) in first and boost up to ~15psi, shifted into second and engine immediately was running with a miss... it would not rev much and black carbon smoke was coming out of the exhaust with definite gas smell... got it parked but will not restart.

Compression is consistent across the cylinders 150psi with ~3 rev's of the engine. Removed injectors and had them cleaned and tested, still no start. Any thoughts???

Bad cap/rotor/coil/plug? You could have lost a spark plug electrode or something.

You probably blew a vac line off, blew an intercooler boot, even look up by the brake booster hose and the blue/black check valves. A buddy in Austin blew his the other day, car would not start - hose blew off after spirited driving by the brake booster.

Let us know what you find.

If no spark ? also check the referance sensors , the far sensor has to be .8mm off the ring gear. let us know.

Also check the connections where the reference sensors plug together close to firewall. I've had trouble with mine there.
