Banjo Bolts?

I was doing some research on better understanding how the 951 system works, and, in reading about Lindsey's "Boost Enhancer", it recommended that if one has the "Banjo Bolt," the Boost Enhancer will work most properly with the stock bolt reinstalled.

What is a Banjo Bolt and how do I know if I have one?

The banjo bolt screws into the intercooler pipe that goes from the turbo outlet -> intercooler. It is often replaced with a jetted banjo bolt that is included in some aftermarket chipsets. The new banjo bolt alters the signal to the wastegate and allows ~15psi.

If your car is stock it will have the factory banjo bolt, if it has been chipped than it may have a jetted banjo bolt. You just need to remove thte bolt and visually inspect it, also check the DME/KLR for aftermarket chips. Installing the LBE takes about 5 min...

What is the factory boost gauge reading under full boost?

Under full boost it seems to go all the way to 2 bar

2 bar on the gauge is ~14.7psi (Im sure you know 2 bar on the gauge is really 1 bar of boost as the 1 bar on the gauge is atmosphere or really 0psi in turbo pressure.) kind of confusing, but wanted to make that clear...
Anways, if the gauge goes all the way to 2 bar then you may already have aftermarket chips as usually it should read roughly 1.65-1.75 bar or so if stock.

Pull the dme and check the chips, also I would recommend throwing in a boost gauge of your choice as they are more accurate and easier to read. G/L

First rule in 951 ownership.

Don't trust the stock guage.....

Find someone who has a guage........ t-into the vacuum hoses and run the hose into the car and verify the readings.

Carefull with anything that will increase boost without altering fuel and timing.
