Question Is AZ too hot for 86 944 Turbo daily driver???

I am looking at buying an 86 944T from a guy I work with here in Illinois. In January, I'll be making the trek from here to Arizona, my permanent residence, potentially with the 944T.

He has all the maintanance records, new clutch, timing belt, and everything seems to function correctly. I drove the car, and fell in love with it immediately (I drive a pathetic v6 Ford Mustang).

I am taking it to a Porsche dealer to get it inspected before the purchase, but I am wondering if it can even handle the 100+ degree heat in Arizona as a daily driver.

Should I buy the car and drive it down there? Any suggestions/comments will be appreciated!!!

Thanks!!

There is a guy on Rennlist from the UAE who daily drives his 951. He says it can take 120+ with no problem.

That's what I thought, but I've never owned a 944 or a turbo car for that matter (let alone 20 years old), so I wanted some advice from owners. Thanks!

I have driven mine in stop and go trafic in Dallas (summer temps go over 100 regulary) for 20 years no problems..but make sure your cooling system is clean and flushed every year also the thermostat should not be sticking (personal experiance) BTW the car has a realy good ac..
