Value for insurance
Can anyone help me with the value of my car. It is an 86 with 36k in pretty good shape. Needs a lot of work on suspension and paint.
If anyone has any suggestions on where to get parts from I am all ears. Thanks for you wisdom and especially your time. |

more information, please. an '86 951 that truly only has 36K on it is probably worth quite a bit, relatively speaking. you are already in the right place for getting parts: pelicanparts.com.

thanks just as I let this post fly I realized that this is a great start
as far as the car goes. Blk with light tan leather int one owner, lady who's foot was crushed in an accident at work and she was unable to drive a 5spd but kept the car. I found it in the garage coated in the thickest dust layer you can imagine. I had the car towed to a local shop. They went through it and found nothing wrong with the car as far and damage from an accident. They flushed the fluids and the car started on the first lick. Replaced H20 pump and timing belt had to have the radiator cleaned and now it runs like a top The next thing that needs to happen is bushing, ball joints and such. I am also open to any suggestion anyone out there might have. |

If you're looking for legit valuation, here's my advice -
Join the Porsche Club of America. They offer a free valuation service to members, mailed directly to you within ten days. My son was recently hit hard enough to total his 87 944S (bought it back to fix). Reputable insurance carrier of driver at fault tried to lowball me with payoff of the price of an average 1987 beater, $4900. I used the official valuation from the PCA as part of my arguement for "excellent condition" value, backed up by a trophy and certificate that my son had won at a well represented car show. The buyback on the wreck was $1500 and they paid me $8900, so actually, I got back $10,400 for an '87 944S w/125K showing. Join the PCA and get a legit valuation for your low mileage car, best $40 I ever spent.... Terry S. |
