Lindsey Boost Enhancer - Adjustment

I came to find that the lock nut that is loosened in order to adjust the Lindsey Boost Enhancer on my car was a little loose, and as a consequence the adjustment screw might have moved, altering my car's boost pressure.

Can anyone tell me how many threads are visible on the adjustment screw in stock LBE form? I want to tighten it down, but I don't want to run any higher than stock LBE boost - I am waiting for a 3.0 FPR to come in the mail and don't want to blow a head gasket before then.

Thanks.

from what Dave at Lindsey said its excatly 4 pennies that fit inside to make it stock...man that things is insane. It makes the car pull harder and boost faster shoulda done this moon ago.

What I want to know is, does it REALLY function as a boost controller? I understand how it closes the wastegate and thusly makes the turbo spool at a lower RPM, but if you adjust it for higher boost, won't it delay the turbo spooling a bit?

the LBE not only increases boost (and acts as a boost controller), it also bypasses the cycle valve 'cripple mode' failsafe.

user beware.

simple, you can even test it yourself on a stock car that has a known working cycle valve (they seem to be getting more and more rare);

1) without LBE, test WOT boost under normal conditions, note the amount of boost (it should be higher than 1.5bar)
2) without LBE, disconnect the wire leads on the cycle valve. this will simulate a 'failed cycle valve/knock detected/cripple mode scenario. test WOT boost. (it should boost only to 1.2bar cripple mode)

3) with LBE, test WOT boost under normal conditions, note the amount of boost (it should appear to be the same 1.5bar).
4) with LBE, disconnect the wire leads to the cycle valve. test WOT boost (it will boost past 1.2bar).

this proves that the LBE bypasses the cycle valve stage two knock protection/cripple mode failsafe, which is exactly what a boost controller does.

So, what is just as effective but safer?

That makes sense but I am guessing the system costs more than the replacement cost of a blown head gasket .

I like looking at data, and I like the idea of being able to ratchet up the boost/hp safely with feedback. How long does it take to install/set-up?

it's plug-and-play, takes less than an hour to install.

it comes with a generic (ie; factory) tune, and/or a 'modded' tune. the fine-tuning is what takes time.
