tranny hard to shift? first time for me.

the transmission is hard to shift into 1st and impossible to shift into R with the car running. (im currently turning the car off to shir to R )

what do you guys think it is.

oh also it is somewhat hard to shift from 1 -2 and 3-4. when the car is running.

your clutch is not releasing. you may have air in the line, or your master/slave is dying.

i agree with nynor. there is a very slight chance that you can fix it with a gear oil change, but i doubt it. i drove my 944 for awhile with a broken clutch (didn't recognize the signs, rubber center broke) and sometimes i would have difficulty shifting. i also noticed a LOT of drivetrain lash (from the 'limp home' teeth).

this is exactly what i was predicting. Ill get on it this weekend and update this thread for future searches.

ya. i have a Sachs cup clutch with aluminum flywheel. sitting in the garage. that whould do the trick.
