I think it is a great idea if you have the konis to begin with - I think it is an exchange right. I have bilsteins so I didn't have the cores - otherwise I probably would've done it already. Are you thinking about doing the ride height adjustable version?

I will probably do the adjustable..but my main reason was that its a lot cheaper to replace the cartridge rather then the whole strut next time.

can u swap and 85.5 front strut assembly into a turbo....meaning I have koni adjustables from my 85.5 can i just install the whole strut assembly with springs into my turbo without mods or problems

sox, this is an excellent modification. also, your new konis will come with lifetime warranty, which means you can have them rebuilt for free anytime and as often as you want/need in the future.
one thing to be careful with, is you'll want to preserve the front brake cooling air deflector that's on the shock tower. it really does help with brake cooling.
