The switch in the middle should lock and unlock both doors.

ok. so if they key can unlock both doors from the drivers door, then the solenoids in the doors work. however the passenger door is the only one locking or unlocking from the center console. i can hear the solenoid firing both directions inside the drivers door when the center console switch is pressed, which leads me to believe of of the 2 mechanical connections has popped lose. thanks sox

the thing is that the key unlocks the driver door and the solenoid unlocks the other door. If the solenoid does not unlock both doors then it goes back to lock. So you need to make sure that the doors are being unlocked by the electronics and not the mechanical turning of the key.

the only reason i dont think its electrical is because i can hear the solenoid firing to lock or unlock the driver door from the center console switch. even the knob on the driver door move a little when the solenoid fires. ill go ahead and take it apart and see what i can find. if is electrical i may have to bring it to a porsche shop. wiring rear wiper assemblies is one thing, playing with microswitches is a little harder and if youve taken the door apart you know that you have to be a anorexic midget to get in there :-)
Happy Turkey Day

Agree on the anorexic midget
![]() The electronics are fine if the solenoid fires. The problem is that there is an adjustment in there that sets the travel of the solenoid. When the travel is not enough the lock does not change states (lock or un lock) the key directly turns the lock mechanism and is independent from the lock electronics. If the solenoid is not geting enough travel then the lock will not work. Ps. When I had the door open I replaced the piece that goes from the solenoid to the lock (it is made of plastic and fails) I just made a piece from aluminum. happy gobbling Sox
