Unhappy 81 931 front suspension.. HELP..!!

Hi.. guys.. my 81 924 turbo has no cushion in the front what so ever.. when I push down in the front part of the car.. it's hard as rock.. no bouncing what so ever.. so imagine what it would be like to drive it.. feel every bump and my back could even feel it after driving it.. My guess is the spring.. ( It seems original as far as I can tell) or is it something else..?? Give me your suggestions for me to start working on this thing.. Before I break my back.. Thanks..

bad shocks and struts? although i have never heard of the springs going bad. usually the shocks go and the car bounces like a basketball.

was the car lowered? springs cut? what's the history behind this car?

well.. I only had it for few monthes.. so don't know the history.. of course.. I got it the way it is.. all seem original..with 133k on the odo.. probably sat for some time.. but if there is no bouncing what so ever.. hard as a rock on both sides.. I sit on fenders on both sides.. and there's no cushioning what so ever..isn't it the springs that gives some kind of a lift.. upwards..?? and shocks would maintain the bouncing..something must have given out.. for good.. well don't know what it is... as you suggest.. I'll give the struts a shot first.. and I'll post it..

try jacking the car up and see if the suspension travels out at all. it could be the springs are shot and the car is resting on the shock bump stops.

It wont be the spings. I have never seen any car have it's springs go bad. It's the struts & shocks like was said on a different forum.

that's what i thought as well, but he did say he couldn't push the car down at all, which sounds like the suspension might be max bottomed out.
