That looks like a fine example too be in mint shape. Unless there is a market for 88 turbo s as a collector car as in 993 in the future, does not look that way now, but who knows.

I had my mechanic check this car top and bottom for two hours to verify that the car is comiserate with the low miles.

The lack of dirt/dibris on the undercarriage to the complete originality of the car. The mileage is the real deal.

Even the belts were originial!!!!

I drove my 1989 3.2 Carrera 911 this evening and it also has a "160" mph speedo.

If anyone is serious on the car, I'll put the interested party in contact with the mechanic that did the belt and fluid changes to verify the car's authenticity.

Kindly, watch your posts, as I don't want the car's authenticity "tainted."

You are correct. The only turbos with 160 mph speedos were in 1986. 1987 and forward all had 180 mph. Looks like someone swapped the speedos out.

if you are serious and have no worries about the authenticity of this car and the mileage, post up a VIN number and i will pay out of my own pocket and run a carfax for you. this will only benefit everyone involved, including yourself.

since you have a new account on here with no history of activity nor involvement prior to posting this sale, you should consider yourself in the hot seat until you can prove this car is actually what you've advertised it to be.

also, if any buyer is really interested in purchasing this car, you should go through ebay or some other listing service that provides protection against fraud.

the way things look on here so far, i would say this car has had the odometer swapped and the mileage turned back, at the very minimum, so buyer beware.

Obviously an extremely nice example, regardless of its history. But making all those claims to justify the premium price without answering the gauge cluster question is super sketchy. If someone was to turn back the odo, why wouldn't they have done it on the original one?

I also spoke with the local Porsche Dealership who verified that a "170" mile speedo is "age appropriate."

Rather than dealing with these types of issues, I am trading the car in for my next car.

can you tell us which dealership this was? where are you located?

a 160mph (not 170) is definitely not appropriate for a 1988 951.

i still have not received the VIN number, which could easily prove/disprove your claims.

my 87951 has the original cluster and i have another cluster out of another 87951 and both are 180's.

perhaps they'll give you $34.5k trade in value and you'll get some cash back.
