DME chip
Hello,
I am in France and i have got a guru racing kit for my 951 ( year 1985 ), in my car the DME have a chip with 28 pin and the guru DME chip have 24 pin, on my DME platinum are drawing the two chip ( 24 and 28 pin ) can y install the 24 pin DME on the 28 pin support ? must i do any modification ? Are you sure it's a 951 because they didn't start making 951s until 1986

Yes i am sure it's a 951, it's the 951 number 14, one off the first who was built, but the DME is not original, it was probably replace by the preceding owner

Or if you know anybody with an eprom (chip) burner, they should be able to build a new image file from your original 28 pin and guru 24 pin. IIRC the last 4kb of the 28 pin chip is for the 4kb of information found on the 24 pin chip. I've done this for somebody else back when I had my eprom burner. Just have them compare the 2 images and you can find out exactly where the 24 pin chip data begins on the 28 pin image file.
