Auto Rx
I have read alot about snake oils and dont trust any of them my largest contributor is bobistheoilguy.com who does tests on these additives like MMO, Slick50 and STP ...all that crap. But they reccomend this product because it is slow acting does not affect the performance of the oil at all.
Just wondering if anyone has used Auto RX at all ....I have a bad oil leak and the car ran low on oil on an occasion or two...I pulled my plug and there is oil on it as well as a noticable misfire...I did a leak down and cylinder one has blowby at the rings ....my assumption is that because my motor only has 110k on it is that the ring grooves are sludged and are stuck in the piston. I am very skeptical of every product out there but I am not sure what else to do because rebuild is not an option for at least a 2 years until I get out of school. I can park it but I would rather not. Any advice on Auto RX....rumors, testimonials, skeptics???? www.Autorx.com

sounds like snake oil. read this thread for some good info on oils;
Ultimate Motor Oil Thread or Why we hate CJ4/SM oils by the way, are you sure the autorx site is legit? it links to some online drug site for me.

While we are on the subject of additives, what's everyones thoughts on a
product called "Sea Foam" Fuel Injector Cleaner? Are these additives pretty much "snake oils" or do some of them actually work? Thanks! |

First of all Nize, your "Fuel Injector Shootout" test was amazing and there's nothing better than visual side-by-side evidence...
That said, your validation of Sea Foam as a good product is significant and convinces me to buy it and give it a try...Thanks! Craig |
