Question Put in 993 seats in 944

Is it feasible / easy to swap 944 seats out for 993 style seats? What if my car doesn't have 8-way power seats already, is the wiring usually there to put in 8-way seats in if I have 4-way power seats on driver side, and no-power seat in passenger side?

Sorry if these are FAQs

Car is an 87 951

It should be pretty easy. All you need is a 12v power lead to the seats. Everything else is contained in the seat itself.

My car had 300ZX seats with all sorts of crazy power adjustments in it when I bought it.

The wiring should already be there since you had 4 ways. Remove the passenger seat and see what you have. It is only six bolts. Are the 993 seats heated? Check to see if you have a black with yellow striped wire in the connector under the seats. The black with red strip is for the motors. If it is there, install a 25 A fuse in position 25 of the fuse panel, switch on the ignition and check for 12v.

You may have to remove the connector from the old seats and install it on the new seats, I am not for sure on this one but it should be fairly straight forward to do. The 944 seats have the seat heater relays under the seats.

What Keith said......

Porsche only used a single version of the wiring harness for these cars, so everything should be there already. Just look under the carpet on the PS and you should find the electrical connector for the seat.
