951 Problem

New to the forum, hello all.

I have an 89 951 that overall runs well. On the freeway or at any constant speed requiring little throttle there are random brief losses of power. Like a quick shutter.

Also, on one instance when the car started it stalled a few times in a row under any amount of power.

Have ran a new fuel supply line recently and also new wires. Putting in a new fuel pump, fuel filter and DMW relay in this weekend. If it doesn't fix the problem was thinking of replacing the plugs, not that old.

Any other suggestions??

Thanks!
David

I would check your Air Flow Meter/AFM. I am thinking that the barn doors are not opening/closing smoothly, or the resistance is not linear.

I think that Clarks Garage has a procedure to check it: Clark's Garage Home Page

Good luck, Keith

could be your TPS as well - same kind of 'tracks' that can wear and cause problems...if it's not adjusted properly it will cause issues like this.
