Opinions on Vitesse stealth stage 1 rebuilt k26 turbo?
I'm facing a new turbocharger dilemma after my DIY rebuild failed.
Like everyone else I would like faster spool-up, but I want to keep the current power output. Power is secondary to spool-up and driveability since tuning and adding power is actually illegal over here. But I'm willing to bend the law if possible ![]() Vitesse is offering to rebuild my current k26#8 to one that spools up faster and/or flows better than it does in it's stock form. I think this is what they call their stealth stage1 setup. I would like to have some opinions on this rebuild/upgrade with an asking price of $1250, which seems high. Thanks.

bought my first vitesse product about 2 weeks ago and am very pleased with what they have come up with (maf kit). spool is super quick and VERY smooth, its like driving a 20 year newer car.

Does your MAF kit include a turbo?

mightaswell just buy a new turbo for that price. Vitesse aparently have pretty good turbos, but im not sure if they have a 3" j-pipe to adapt to the turbo but Lindsey racing have them and they connect to your original afm

Thanks Pauly.
I liked the fact that you get stock appearance and was willing to pay a little for that. I've decided against this upgrade simply because it is too expensive for me right now. One factor is the shipping cost involved in shipping my turbo across to have it modified. I'm still considering an upgrade, but only a new turbo. I'll open a new thread on that.

huge difference with a non restricted airflow, quicker spool, more top end

May consider a 27/6. Basically stock appearance with almost identical spool to the 26/6.. and it supports 300whp easy. You can modify the stock j-boot to work or go with the LR silicone boot. I think the important thing is the triple-K casting and tags on the compressor cover, hard to say its not stock i suppose by just looking at it if your not in the 'know'. You can have this done locally also, all you need is the K27 cold side. Find atleast the 7200 compressor wheel though.. the others (older variants) are uber laggy.
