Re-doing interior of 951

RE-POST of alt.autos.porsche.944

Hi,

I was just wondering... Has anybody ever tried to redo his interior
completly. Or is there anybody who let this do by specialists? I can imagine
that some things concerning recarpeting etc needs specialty tools and
experience, but is far is i can see now, the interior of my 951 '88 is
pretty easy to replace. Except for the carpets i can't see a part of the
interior that is too hard too do. The only thing that will be tough is the
vinyl/leather parts that cover-up the car that has no interior body plates.
But even that should be do-able. Any experience/suggestions?

Arne

I've never replaced the interior, but I have removed the interior. Porsche uses alot of very sticky glue on the carpets, headliners, rear seats, etc. I think it can be done. Just be sure to use alot of glue on the carpets so they stay down.
