newbie: what car to start with

I'm doing the gm v8 conversion for a porsche 944. I'm just finishing up my engine and would like to start looking for a car. The engine will be quite aggressive running 450+ hp and with a 8,000 rpm limit. I'd like to run it as a road racing car that I'll be using for a daily driver. My question is what do I start with and what's the best way of going around it? pre-1985 or post-1985? na, turbo, turbo s? What should I watch out for in a used car?

Turbo is good turbo S is better. They have improved brake system and a transaxle to handle the horse power. The 86 has a different wheel offset and the hubs arnt as strong. The good news is that what ever turbo you choose can be updated and all the options that you would want are available for the right price.
