Question Rear bumper cover ?

The right rear fiberglass/molded plastic piece between the body and bumper is cracked and chipped badly on my 87 951. I'd llike to remove, repair and repaint. First though is how to get it off. The rubber bumper protector covers the end piece and the front is routed under rear fender and above the quarter panel valance. Is there an easy way to get this off without removing the bumper? I've looked at this several ways without a clue. Thanks

I just replaced the one on my N/A a couple of months ago. I believe you'll have to take off the valence (I don't have one so I don't know what it entails) to get to the mounting area on the fender (3 small nuts). The bumper does not have to come off but the rubber bumper pad does (3 nuts I believe). The outermost bolt holding on the bumper pad goes through the end cap so you can't pull it out by just loostening.

Good luck!

(shamelessly encroacing on the turbo board)

Ya best be replacin' those worn out S-02s, boy [southern accent]! The turbo diffuser is held on by 8 mounting screws, and the thing comes off in two pieces [as you err...probably already know]. -Trevor
