Steering Wheel Swap ????

I have a 1996 993 C4S Steering wheel,
and I was wondering if it could be used on a 1987 944 turbo car?

Thanks, David

I think the problem (lack of answers) is no one swaps airbag steering wheels. Usually when a wheel comes out a non airbag style goes on. (now this is only specualtion) but from what I've seen in airbags is that they have a certain shape to them, I assume this is too conform to the interior of the specific car. So I can only assume that even if it did bolt in, that your "airbag safety" would be compromised, and if you were going to do that you may as will throw a Momo or something on there. btw. if you blew up your 944 bag and are looking for a replacement i could be talked into taking mine out.

Yes It can be done. I switched mine out last summer. You will also need to switch out the signal/ wiper control in order to get the momo wheel to fit. If you attempt to use the one that came with the air bag there will not be enough threads left to even get the large nut on to the shaft. I do not have a working horn button in the center of the steering wheel so I moved it it the first button on left side of the the console where my right hand is anyway most of the time while Im driving.
