Turbo alignment problems
Well my turbo got destroyed by a bolt, so I bought a used one, and before install I took the housings off and cleaned it. I forgot to mark the clocking. So I'm trying to test-fit it but no matter how I turn the cold side housing with it put together loosely, I can't seem to get the oil return on the bottom, and the crossover flange to both be aligned.

I cannot see the frame for the extra serial no plate on the back of the cold back plate. This indicates that it is covered by the outlet flange. This has to be mounted differently, away from the turbo mount. The frame protrudes enough to prevent you from mounting the turbo to the car. There should be a x stamped on the inside of the backing plate marking the trouble spot.
