dead cat?
I don't know if this is coincidence or just bad luck - last weekend I pulled a few grounds to clean them up, including the one on the bellhousing by the reference sensors. The next day while driving the car it started making a metallic rattling from underneath the car near the center - not exactly a heat shield sound - between 2 and 3k rpm. I next noticed that the car isn't making full boost - the gauge is showing about 1.4 bar vs. the usual 1.7 it was before. There's also a wooshing noise under full throttle while under boost. Did I knock something loose while fixing grounds, is my cat plugged, or should I chase something else?

For starters, check your blow off valve near the coolant reservoir. The thing has a diaphram in it that can break. If it does, you lose boost. You might also check your exhaust system, pre turbo, to see if it has come loose and exhaust is leaking.

Turns out that once I got to the cat was pre-gutted... I found one of the 1/2" vac nipples had come free from the intake. It's been JB Welded back into place and is curing. Seems to be just an unhappy coincidence.
