thermostat thank you

Hello; I have been reading this board for over a year and find it very informative. Last night I replace my thermostat on my 86 951. Purchased the snap-on and home depot tool prior to installation and per boards recommendation. One hour later it was out. I WOULD JUST LIKE TO THANK EVERYONE ON THIS BOARD AND THEIR HELP.

No the snap-on tool had a 90 degree bend and didn't work as wellas the one from home depot whiach was straight. you can read all the posts you want about the subject, it still isn't easy.

good luck

Yeah, I tried and tried and finally gave up on mine. Did you get this tool from snap on:

I was told this is ONLY tool that will work fast.

That's the same one from preformace parts for twenty five dollars, I don't know if that will work or not. The snap-on has two different version's similar to pliers the small one which I used and some that are the same size as regular pliers. Either come straight or at a ninety degree bend.
