TIPS to install Cross-Over Pipe turbo side
Hi everyone!
Yesterday I re-installed my cross-over pipe. Everybody know how much this can be tricky to get the lower nuts at the Turbo Flange! http://img4.hostingpics.net/pics/604...nderhood01.jpg Some of you have the lower left nut welded to the flange, some (like me) haven't this nut welded, which make the job very harder without any tips. However.. I made a tricks that I will share with you, and its gonna take you only 10 minutes to install next time :D I use this tricks to get the 2 lower nuts. Tools you need: 1. 14mm wrench (lower left nut is smaller than the other 3 nuts) 2. 15mm box (for the bolt) 3. A "swivel" ratchet 3. Your fingers 4. Duct Tape.. yes yes.. duct tape! :p In the picture its a 13mm wrench because I made this pictoriel AFTER I installed the cross-over pipe so I took a nowhere nut and the wrench that fit with it. Ok let starts. First, Duct Tape your 14mm wrench! This way, you will be abel to reach the lower location without drop the nut. I was easier to me to duct tape the outside of the wrench curve. http://img11.hostingpics.net/pics/74...0821140513.jpg http://img11.hostingpics.net/pics/37...0821140506.jpg Now you put the bolt in the flange hole (lower left) and add a washer. Make the bolt about 2 or 3 threads pass the washer. With the Duct Taped wrench, reach the bolt threads. Reach the head bolt with your other hand fingers and screw the bolt while applying enough pression with the wrench to get some threads in the nut. To finish the job and torque the bolt I use this type of ratchet: http://img11.hostingpics.net/pics/94...0821140605.jpg Thats it! It make the job VERY VERY VERY easy. It took me 10 minutes to do.. Hope you like, sorry for the english! SmileWavy |
