bleeding the cooling system
After bleeding my cooling system a bunch of times. Is there a way to do it without making a mess? The coolant just goes everywhere.

stick a rag under the bleeder valve when you crack it open? or install the lindsey steam vent, then you'll never have to bleed the coolant again.

I found that filling the cooling system with the bleeder valve open until the little hole is exposed and leaving the cap off the overflow tank for a while. I had the front wheels off the ground also. Never had to fuss with it after that.
If you already have air in the system, I would idle the engine, and crack the bleeder screw momentarily. Repeat about 4 or 5 times. |
