I have a problem with the handling of my 951. When I come off the gas in a corner (not really pushing it hard) the front end changes direction - like the rear wheels were steering.
I checked all the bushes I could find the other day, prying them with a bar for play, everything checked out, except I found the torque tube to have about .25 inch play either way I pried it. This is related to the back mount that supports the gearbox, which also moves. Since I cannot see this mount very well (kind of caged in) does anyone out there know if this is correct or not. I don't think it is myself, but not sure what is involved removing/replacing this mount. My feeling is when I lift off the gas the torque tube throws the gearbox to one side, upsetting the balance on the rear. Your thoughts? |

No LSD. It is an 87, with a build date of Oct, 87 according to the VIN number. However, it does not have LSD, Anti-lock brakes or central door locking. It does have Air Bags though, so it may be late 86 early 87 that got it's VIN later.

Get a four wheel alignment done by somebody who knows about Porsche first. The movement in the transmission mount is normal.
