Question Which exhaust to get?

I am currently looking at getting a new s/s exhaust for my 86' 951. I've been looking at the Speed Force, GHL, and Fabspeed cat-back systems. Has anyone had any experience with these or suggestions for any others?

I had a B&B Triflo on my 951 and I thought it was pretty good.

I bought a SFR turbo-back exhaust, including test pipe. I'll take pictures when it arrives + the install. I'll post my thoughts on it when I'm done.

...deep thoughts, by Kierf...

I wouldn't waste my money unless your stock exhaust is toast. Unless you find a good deal on a used sport exhaust $400-$500 for just noise is a bit too much IMO. I've been there and done that and I'm not sure it really makes any performance difference.

I have had the fabspeed unit for about a year now and I am running with no cat and the stock Porsche muffler and tail pipe.

I love the sound and am very satisfied with the performance gain and the quality. My car is chipped.

I agree with Wolfrpi. If you are only going with Cat-back, I wouldn't waste your money so it sounds different. If you want performance gains, you will need to go with a 3" downpipe and cat bypass type system.

I installed just a Bursch steel test pipe...nothing fancy, and there was a noticeable difference!...Quicker spool up...quicker accelleration, and a better sound as well...after installing it, I could all of a sudden hear my turbo spool up & wind down....I found it to be well worth the money....I have a stock exhaust system other than this.....I have been curious to know if I would experience any benefits from a stainless cat-back system...I've heard B&B makes a good one, and also Broadfoot Racing is making custom SS systems for a better price....$500 or so...

Full 3" exhaust if you upgrade turbo, head, chips, or controller. If your going to boost it, let if flow. If your stock, probably a test pipe.
