Driveline slack turbo S

Car has 98000 miles and feel some driveline slack when on and off gas. Pulled the inspection plate where the input shaft is to trani and with the clutch engaged in first gear i can spin the input shaft 1/4 turn back and forth. Is that normal? when clutch is engaged i cannot spin the shaft so that rules out the clutch.

ideas?

That sounds about normal to me.

Short of having your transaxle rebuilt, I don't expect that there's much you can do about it.
