heater core delete
i was wondeirng if anyone did this and how difficult an average gear head could handle removing. /?? do i need a delete kit? and if so which one? also does anyone know the weight of the unit once removed?

I'm assuming this is for the track car? It's a real bad idea for a road car since you may have defogging issues. I don't speak from 944 experience but on other cars i have done you can do 2 things. You can follow the input and output of the core to the source on the motor and cap them. You can also unplug the in and out to the core and join them with a tube and some clamps. As for removing the core if it's like my 928 the dash has to come out. Which is technically not hard but just a lot of work unhooking things and them remembering how to put them back. IMO not worth the effort in weight savings unless the core is leaking or having issues now.

Yes sir. But the thing is we're deleting a lot of things to clean the bay up. Battery relocated. Heater removal washer tank whole headlight assembly

well, you can probaly delete a ton of stuff behind the dash in that case,so it's probably worth it.

Remove and cap the coolant hose on the waterpump under the oil filter. You can take the coolant pipe that runs over the headers out also.
Then cap the coolant neck on the back of the cylinder head, alternatively there is a block off plate you can get. |
