I dont need anything super expensive just something that works good and looks ok, Where did you guys T off of for the MBC and Boost gauge? Also Id like to run 17-18psi from what I have read this is doable without to many issues, I will be installing a Wideband and have the 3bar fuel regulator, Where do you guys locate the A/F sensor bung? Near the starter? Thanks for any tips tricks and pointers :D

I tee off at the KLR hose behind the computer kick panel for my boost gauge and never had an issue. I am running 15 psi with chips, stock injectors, and a 3 bar regulator. You should be able to find a decent boost gauge for 30 to 50 dollars but will have to find a suitable mounting plate or pod as well for the gauge.

VDO Vision series is the closest match to stock if that matters to you, otherwise any cheapo Autometer gauge is fine.
http://forums.pelicanparts.com/porsche-944-turbo-turbo-s/639327-show-me-your-bung.html I would stick with 15-16psi for longevity. |

AutoMeters aren't exactly cheap. They're made in Chicago, and they are very well made. VDO and Autometer are about the best analog gauges you can get. There a plenty of cheap AutoMeter replicas at your local auto parts store, made to look identical to AutoMeter and called "autoneter" or "autometen" or something. Take care! |
Watch you do not run lean. You can adjust the FQS to give you more fuel.
I did the 4" exhaust, 3 bar, wastegate, head gasket, heads, clutch, real short shifter at trans, Mtune, 80Lb injectors, venturi delete, M030 suspension and other goodies. Have fun and enjoy |
I'm using the AEM Tru-Boost Electronic Boost Controller....works fantastic, you can set boost pressures for both the street and track (push the button to go from A to B), over boost protection, spring pressure, duty cycle, etc. Great tech support, many install videos on their website. Great unit for the price. Complete kit nothing more to buy, easy install and setup. About $320.00
AEM TRU-BOOST Gauge / Boost Controller - Monitor and Control Boost 30-4350 Don't forget the wideband O2 sensor!!!! |
I'm using the vdo boost gauge and I tapped into
into the line behind the KLR computer on the passenger-side floorboard. I then put it in a center console fitting along with the manual boost controller that Lindsey also sells. If you keep the boost 15 to 16 pounds with the stock S 26/8 turbocharger you should have no issues. Be sure to change your head gasket to a widefire and consider having the head oringed. In fact I track my car once a month and have been doing so for the last four years and I had zero issues. Brake cooling and suspension or other things that you will need to look at. |
