Help an idiot out ... identify where this line goes
I am trying to replace the HCV on my stock 87 Turbo and in doing so I disconnected a vacuum line and have no clue where one end of it goes.
The line that I took out is pictured below. http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1343965599.jpg One end of it (the curved side) goes in the following hole, I believe. http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1343965879.jpg http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1343965906.jpg Where does the other end of it go? I have no clue. By the time I had the HCV off, this thing was completely loose and just fell off. I didn't take a picture of it before. It went from under the intake to some place unknown. Can someone help me identify where the other end goes? I don't know the names of these parts so a picture with this highlighted would help me greatly. I have looked at the following two links but cannot figure out which one this line is: http://forums.pelicanparts.com/porsche-944-turbo-turbo-s/409105-porsche-951-944-turbo-reference-list.html VACUUM DIAGRAMS at LINDSEY RACING - Your Porsche Performance Parts Center Thank you so much for helping me out. |
From the 2nd diagram in the link below, is my line the one coming from G and going into H?

The shape of it, it looks like the one that runs from the cycling valve to the fitting on the bottom of the throttle body.

If you took a pic from farther away, (so we can see where exactly it is), it might help. If we know exactly where to look we can go out to our cars and start looking around.

its not coming from the cycling valve. its a hex looking thing that's below and between the cycling valve and the heater valve toward the back of the engine. picture to follow.

The first picture below shows where one end of the line should be attached. I think this is labeled G on this diagram: http://forums.pelicanparts.com/pacific-northwest-us-wa-id-ut-hi-ak/315326-attn-944-turbo-owners-have-some-time-your-hands.html
http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1344011209.jpg The currently connected end goes into the valve pictured below. I believe it is H in the link I mentioned above. The loose end would then go to the throttle body next to B in the same link. http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1344011220.jpg Have I got it right? Can someone please take a picture of their engine bay showing this loose end being routed? Thank you. |
It does go to B i.e. below the throttle body. Thanks.
