Testing turbocharger cooling pump
Call me paranoid but I how do I test the turbocharger cooling pump? Seems like I used to be able to hear it over the cooling fans when I turn off the car. Last two times I can’t tell if it is operating or not. I unhooked the connector and it looks like a male and female end. Can I simply hook it up to the battery to test? If so is the male side positive or negative? Also after operation, would the pump itself be warm? Mine is cool to the touch.
Please help put my mind at ease. I just had everything rebuilt. ![]() |

I used a battery charger to test mine. I found it to be a bit sluggish. It was fairly easy to take apart, clean and put back together. Works like a charm.

I'm not sure I'm hearing mine anymore either. Anyone care to provide some detailed instructions on how to locate and remove it? Thanks!
