oil in intercooler

What is considered an acceptable amount? I have a completely rebuild stock 86 motor with abiut 2500 miles on it. Runs like a beast. Followed recommended breakin using dino and now redline synthetic. There is what I would consider alot of oil in the intake. For example if you take off an intercooler pipe and stand on end a oil pool about the size of a quarter appears. What is an acceptable amount. Plugs look good and runs well. Long term affects? Affecting performance?

Was your turbo also rebuilt at the same time?

Yes it was. In my searches it seems there is an acceptable level. New AOS and orings with rebuild. Basically everthing is new. The plugs were a little oily on threads but the tops normal bronzish color. just trying to determine if what I am seeing is normal.

Also wondering what the bottom of the inter cooler is looking like

Gotta be pooling over time with nowhere to go

Oil vapor will rob hp and can potentially cause detonation and engine damage. I have LOTS of oil after a track session. I'm putting in a LR catch can to try and eliminate it.

I tried installing a catch this weekend but fitting 5/8 in tubing in that spaghetti mess between the top of the AOS and the CV bracket is impossible so put all back as it was. Next thought is putting can where washer resivour is and running hoses under fuel rail between cylinder 1 & 2 and tapping in between the tree and where it enters the j boot. might attemp with intake still in. just remove air box and afm for access.

I don't have Ac so mine is going where that cylindrical ac component is behing the driver side light. I will jump it off where it plugs into the J boot. No need for me to run stuff under the intake. I'll post something if I ever get it done.

I had to cut into the bracket on the back of the light for clearance.

If the motor was recently rebuilt you might just be experiencing higher than average blowby since the rings haven't fully seated. Should slow down as the motor breaks in.
