Need a PPI
 

I am looking at buying a 951 Turbo S in Maywood NJ area. Can anybody give me a recommendation on a reputable shop to get a PPI done?
I am not new to 924/944 NA cars.... But I am not as familiar with the Turbo'd cars. Anything to pay attention outside of the timing belt, water pump tensioners? Thanks!!

Something close to Newark NJ could work to!

The item to check that comes first to my mind is the fuel lines. If they haven't been replaced there's a serious fire risk. Check underneath, as they can crack below and look fine on top.

Minor issues that I've dealt with:

Clock tends to crack (redesigned updated replacements for the LCD are available - don't buy NOS or used - they will quickly fail.

The sunshade clips - they turn to mush - replace with VW clips

The odometer gear also turns to mush. The fix isn't hard, but takes an hour or so to get it out. While there, clean the bulbs, use acetone to clean off the reflector silver from the plastic and replace with aluminum foil.

The plastic HVAC clip on the control rod by the drivers leg tends to break. If it has, they will have replaced it with a metal clip. If it breaks, it fails to full heat on - which is annoying in the summer.

Broken glovebox support hooks.

Center console hinge cracks and the lid falls off.

Bad gas shocks on rear or hood

slop in the shifter - there's a great repair with thrust bearings and a bolt that will bring it back to perfection with that lovely Porsche shift feel

Pay particular attention to the vacuum lines. There are many of them.

Various leaks - oil, and PS. There's a PS rebuild kit for the PS pump that works well.
