What is this?

Hi I'm new to the 951. Many things are different on this car than the average 944. Since I'm new to my car I've taken a few pics and want to know what this adjusting valve/ screw .... Do ? Thanks

Poor man's Manual Boost Controller (MBC)

Adjust at your own risk.

Google "manual boost controller".

It allows you to adjust the Boost manually.

first, congrats on your 951. I just got my 951 project car started a couple weeks ago, finishing the installation of another motor as the PO lost enthusiasm once he got the block in the engine bay.

at least your PO put the MBC under the hood to eliminate the temptation to adjust on the fly. do you have a stock wastegate?

if you decide to fiddle with it, keep your eye on your boost gauge.

I installed a MBC on the center console along with a LR dual port wastegate. I also have a boost gauge and AFR wide-band gauge on the A pillar to monitor. if you are going to increase boost, you need to know what is happening.

I guess the 'wealthy man's' boost controller is the electrically controlled version.

turn knob to increase max boost, but beware. turn too far and the car will pull like a freight train right up to the point where it blows apart.
