Almost finished! VEMS Plug and Play ECU for 951!

Almost finished, VEMS v3.8 Plug and Play solution for Porsche 944 Turbo, utilizes all stock sensors, including flywheel trigger and knock sensor. Comes with starting map and allows one to use whatever injectors or ignition system you like including coil-on-plug. Has integrated WBo2, EGT controller, internal SD card logging, GPS logging, has flex-fuel input, launch, anti-lag, working and easy to config boost control, switchable config etc.
With almost any Android device and optional Bluetooth adapter (costs just 45 euros, inside the ECU) one can use VEMSDisplay Android and for tuning with laptop no wires are needed: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=876TCZBUeI8
Also you can use the VEMS ecu on other car if you wish so.

VEMS allows individual cylinder trim both regarding fuel and spark. Also has individual cylinder power measuring system which you can use to detect misfiring cylinder (exactly the same way as newest Bosch ecus do, by measuring time for each tooth to reach TDC, if takes longer than should at given rpm, meaning power is less -> misfire). There's easy to understand graph for this in VEMSTune.
But that requires wiring injectors sequentially, not batch fire, like 951 is from factory. But it is quite easy to do, even with original wiring.

Price for the complete kit is 945 euros shipped worldwide, includes everything that is seen on the photo. WBo2, EGT etc sensors can be had for extra.

PS! MAP sensor is internal and choices are 250kpa, 300kpa, 400kpa or 700kpa version (specified upon ordering).
Original AFM is not needed and can be removed, but air temp sensor has to be installed after intercooler (new fast response air temp sensor can be had for 20 euros).

Happy new year!

The unit pictured goes to California, a fellow Pelican greyes59.

Are they the original connectors or new ?

Raceboy 01-02-2015 06:03 AM

The connectors are original AMP connectors but not from 951 DME and KLR, these come from other ECU's and are like new if that's what's you are concerned about.

Very cool!

My concern was if I had to find those connecters and then wire them myself.

Why would you need to do that? The Plug and play ECU means that you get everything pictured: ECU with map that starts your car and adapter harness that you can use to plug the ECU right into original factory loom...

blade7 01-03-2015 09:52 AM

I'm just asking for information...

running_cold924 01-03-2015 10:00 AM

way cool man!! does it read the knock sensor? and can you add any safetys like overboost protection or knock protection?

Raceboy 01-03-2015 11:31 PM

It is already said in the original post that it works with original knock sensor.

Overboost protection is so essential to standalone management that I did not even bothered to mention it separately...

You can download VEMSTUne tuning interface and check the features etc yourself: http://www.vems.hu/vt/

Looking forward to hearing how it does with California emissions. It may actually help in that regard, just wondering. Looks like an interesting product at a reasonable price.

I was interested in greyes59's 944 Turbo so I checked his profile, 233 posts, 232 of them seem to relate to 911's and 1 about a 944 foglight. I look forward to his impressions.

Raceboy 01-04-2015 12:32 PM

He bought his 944 Turbo just lately. But he seems to be satisfied with my services so far as he ordered a complete 911 VEMS+twin-plug COP setup from me few months ago.

blade7 01-04-2015 01:08 PM

So the pic is a VEMS kit for his 911 ?

Raceboy 01-04-2015 09:50 PM

This is made for his 951!!!

The 911 kit for George is this (he already received it months ago):

You would need to know YOUR cars setup, not 911's...

And also, I do not need your money, you think that I am some kind of Eastern-European peasant or something? With this kind of attitude I am better off selling them to someone who shows some respect..

Respect goes both ways...

Raceboy 01-05-2015 08:06 AM

It sure hasn't come from your side at all...

Why you edited your insulting text off your post where you requested my website?

blade7 01-05-2015 08:51 AM

I've asked reasonable questions relating to the product you are selling here. No insults from me.
