transmission oil cooler modification
hello,
i have leaking problems with my transmission oil cooler. its leaking from the right side of the transmission where it hookup. i just changed the seal and its still leaking... too much to drive it. The metal from the cooler part seem damaged... do i need to change the cooler or is it possible to only change the "coupler" that goes into the trany. is there a way i can modify this part so it doesnt leak anymore? like a banjo bolt or something like that. thanks for the answers guys. alex

it looks like it's just a push-fit with a bracket, so you can replace the o-ring.

Same issue on mine. One fitting was damaged and O rings wouldn't help. fortunately one Rennlister had one he was just going to toss, so He's sending it to me. PO had tried with silicone seal to staunch the leak but it was a bust. It'll be good to get the cooler, so I can mark this issue of my list of things still needed to complete before the cars road worthy again. Porsche want's nearly $900 for these things. Not surprising since they want $42 for a $3.50 wheel bearing inner seal.

The fitting into the trans is an internal o-ring seal. The stock tube fitting presses into the ID of the casting sealing on the o ring then the U shaped flange keeps it from blowing out. A similar concept is used on AC fittings.
This relates to why I am looking for the dimensions to make some adapters. I don't have a turbo trans or a 951 but do have cad skills and machining capabilities... I'll buy someones old fittings that slip into trans if nobody has calipers to measure or time to get these dimensions. LMK porscheken@nc.rr.com K
