Help! My fqs switch snapped off while trying to adjust.
Ok so here is what happened. I used the tutorial for adjusting the dme fqs switch in order to try and remove some fuel enrichment from the stock table. I used the 2.5 mm Allen wrench and the potentiometer switch snapped off. I couldn't get it to turn and now have no idea what setting it is on. I can now turn the pot switch but because the stop is gone it can just spin and spin. I am not really sure what to do here...I want to set it to position 2 for the -3% fuel enrichment with no timing retard. Is there any way to identify which position the pot is in without the stop?

It is actually not a pot but a switch.
If you broke off the stop point you should still be able to feel the switch change settings, it will be a soft click definitely felt. IIRC there is a bigger gap in the "clicks" when it goes from 7 to 0 all the rest should be shorter so you could figure out where 0 is and set to 2 more clicks from there. Do not keep spinning it around as you will wear out the stop hitch that produces a click. Then your choice will be to open the DME and use a meter to set it or replace the switch. Sox |
Thanks for the advice. I'll give it a try tomorrow.
